Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To hire a vehicle from Fleetwood, you must be at least 21 years old, though age limits may vary depending on the vehicle type. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. Ensure you provide valid payment information and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Dartford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pick-up. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include applicable VAT. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through established payment systems.
Fleetwood Vehicle Pickup & Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is imperative to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and must be signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same state as it was received, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Please ensure that the fuel level is the same upon return; refueling fees will be applied for vehicles returned with less fuel. Late returns can result in additional charges, so inform us as soon as possible if you expect to return the vehicle late. You are liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. For comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts, please refer to the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial exposure. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, unless further insurance is obtained. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will be your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities, including racing, rallying, or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, the vehicle should not be used for purposes it was not designed for, and it is important to adhere to passenger and weight limits. Travel beyond the specified geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Fleetwood Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will be limited to the rental fees paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to claims for death or personal injury arising from negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in these regions.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
